A year ago at this time, we were just getting back from our annual trek to Las Vegas for MailCon, Affiliate Summit West, and other great networking events like the Mailer Meetup and Affiliate Ball. (I was reminded of the Affiliate Ball 2020, when some great pics from that night popped up in my Facebook feed over the last few days.) None of us could have guessed at the time that it would be the last big industry event we would attend for over a year.

Now that 2021 is off and running, we kicked off our first event of the year a bit differently, with MailCon Virtual.  Kudos to the folks at MailCon for organizing their first virtual conference, so we didn’t have to wait until the fall for the first MailCon of 2021 (we are very excited to get back to Vegas in October!).

The show expanded to two full days of content, with some great speakers covering a wide range of email marketing topics. We were thrilled to be asked to revisit the topics from our real-world presentation from 2020 with our partners and friends at LashBack, but with the added element of looking at how the pandemic impacted email marketing over the past 12 months.

We all know that today’s virtual events can’t entirely replace all the great elements of real-world events, but MailCon did a great job of pulling together a wide range of content and adding in some useful networking technology into the event platform. MailCon always puts on some of our favorite events each year and they kicked off 2021 on a high note.
