We’re excited to release the latest interview in our ongoing series from LinkUnite IV, where we continue to highlight the remarkable women in the performance marketing industry. This time, we’re featuring Brittany Hawkins, Founder, and CEO of Ignite Media Group, for a conversation that was originally scheduled to take place in Nashville, but ended up happening in New York during ASE. Brittany shares her career journey from joining a startup to eventually leading her own company, providing plenty of insights along the way.
Brittany’s career in the industry began at a scrappy startup where everyone pitched in on everything (which is an amazing way to learn!). Later, that company was acquired, allowing her to experience the shift from startup to a large corporate environment. This perspective helped prepare her to eventually launch and lead Ignite Media Group, where she combines the best of both worlds—maintaining startup dynamism while integrating the higher expectations of larger companies.
One of the focal points of our conversation is the significant role of LinkUnite in the industry. Like many members, Brittany appreciates the supportive and non-competitive environment it fosters for women, by women. LinkUnite’s mission to break down barriers and build authentic, supportive communities for women in performance marketing has made a lasting impact, and Brittany emphasizes the effort and authenticity that Sara Malo and Amanda Farris have poured into building this unique initiative.
Addressing the industry’s traditionally male-dominated nature, Brittany shares her perspective on the evolving inclusivity and growing presence of women in high-powered and executive roles. Over the years, she has witnessed significant progress, with more women breaking through the “boy’s club,” establishing their influence, and contributing to the industry’s advancement.
Stay tuned for more episodes in our LinkUnite Interview Series, where we’ll continue to bring you the stories and insights of women who are shaping the future of digital marketing.
